Happy New Year to you all!!
(yey, that made it almost sound as though more than a handful of people will ever read this)
I hope that everyone's Christmas/Other Holidays taking place towards the end of December - time brought joy, chocolate, and other things of an awesome nature. Also wishing you that the new year will bring some cash (I don't know anyone who couldn't use a bit more), that some cool things happen (other than ice storms and blizzards), as well as good luck.
So, I know that I haven't updated in ages, and I am here to say that this trend is likely to continue. The various reasons keeping me from doing anything worth putting on here over the last few months were most definitely school related. Whether it had to do with trying to organize events for a student body that is largely apathetic at best, or whether it had to do with the multitude of projects sneaking up and pouncing me within the last two weeks of classes before finals and the always well timed and spaced labs and midterms, the result was that I didn't get much done other than the occasional shopping trip, eating, and writing/other various school work. Sleeping was left off the list since not much of that happened either, due to the afore mentioned reasons. So, unless someone wants to see the awesomeness that is change detection analysis using supervised pixel based classification methods, I have nothing that is noteworthy of sharing deviantly. (Yeah, I didn't think you wanted to see it). I couldn't upload any pictures of the amazing, several days in duration winter hike, from which I returned just yesterday, because I was brilliant enough to leave the battery charger for my camera a 12 hour bus ride away. As for the future, well, school will start again soonish, either on the 3rd, or a week after that, depending on various circumstances, such as the grazing preferences of elk females, and so there will be very little time to get things done, again. If I do happen to come across a pretty satellite image that has been much more prettified by me in order to get something like areas of recent landslides in Hawaii out of it, I may upload it eventually.
However, there is a project that is almost semi-artistic. Now, I am fully aware that I need to switch the site around still, since I made it on my widescreen laptop without taking into account people with normal resolutions, not 1920 by 1200, but at least all of the links work, and the idea is there, as well as the data and what ever else should be there. This is my site
if anyone is interested (On a side note, you can HTML in journals, nifty). And as with everything, I just realized that I need to fix some of the markers, since there is a bit of a typo in them. *sigh* Ad astra per aspera.
Well well, hear from you next year, and to infringe on the copy right of which ever studio brought us Anchor Man,
Stay Classy World!
